Chocolate Pie

This chocolate pie from scratch is to die for!   I was watching The Pioneer Woman on FoodNetwork. You just cannot avoid Ree Drummond on Saturdays!  She called her chocolate pie after her husband Ladd Chocolate Pie!

I had to try make this recipe of hers and I love it how easy to make!

Here is the picture of the slice that I had at very late before bed time last night! Haha..

You can find her recipe on the website below:

What a year(almost to the end of 2014)!

I am back!!!!   What a year(almost to the end of 2014 literally)...  The death of my grandmother in February had hit hard at home. The funeral was beautiful. It was wonderful seeing the family and friends of hers.  Then a month later, I apparently had an old injury in my shoulder and that caused pain so much that I couldn't move my arm or shoulder real well.   Going back and forth with doctors and specialists within two months.  Finally, I had MRI done on my shoulder. Good enough, I had some tear in my labrum and bicep and the surgery is recommended.  Then two days after my birthday in May, I had the surgery done.   Boy, it was exhilarating experience sleeping on my recliner chair for two months because it was actually the most comfortable way to sleep with my shoulder wrapped with the brace.   Physical Therapy was the most challenging I ever had to endure by going there every week faithfully.  PT Jeff was great and hard on me. He wanted to make sure I continued doing well and not in pain. Last week was the last day of PT and I felt so good doing well. I will still be doing the exercise to continue and improve myself. I won't be 100% until at least a year from last May.  I know this blog is about food I am to make and share...

I promise you, I will be back soon and sharing some dishes or desserts that I get to make from Pinterest or someone's blog/website.  I often tweak in the recipe when making to my satisfactions of taste buds.  Haha.

The Pioneer Woman is actually my favorite web site to check out often. She made so many brilliantly and deliciously dishes!

I hope your 2014 year has been very good!!  I look forward to the fall season, Halloween and Thanksgiving.    Christmas is just about 13 weeks away!  No kidding...

Warmth regards,

Leslie

Planning an Easter Dinner

Hello!!  Easter is just around the corner!  What are you planning to do for Easter Day?  I know several people are going to Easter Dinner Buffets at some restaurants.  They are truly costly and don't feel like family gathering because there will be bunch of strangers dining, too. Not that they are bad idea.. I'd prefer having my family gathering on Easter's Day at someone's home or at my house.  This time Easter will be held at my house.

We will be having ham as usual. I am not quite sure about the side dishes.. Will work on that.  But for the dessert part, I am going to make Lemon dessert. Will be posting pictures on the day of making and baking. However, I found an amazing recipe of cupcake called Raspberry  Easter Egg Cupcakes by Krissy's Creations via Pinterest. Never getting tired of Pinterest. Anyway, I have included her website link for you to access her for the recipe.

I cannot wait to make them and definitely will post pictures.  I hope they look pretty just like the picture above. :)

Happy Easter to you all!

During a school night last week, my daughter Kayla and I decided to make some sweets...  Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip cookies and Puppy Chow.  We were able to nibble them away that night, but lucky me I made double batch so that's way we still have some of them to nibble on.

I did it!!!

OMG!!! I was right to get this recipe from Pip and Ebby's adaptation of Candy Bar Fudge. For me, I'd call it "Homemade Snickers Bar"!!!

It was the MOST easy and effective way to make it!!  Thanks to Pip and Ebby's!

Step 1 mix peanut butter and milk chocolate chip (Top left)
Step 2 mix marshmallow creme, vanilla, sugar, peanut butter, evaporated milk and peanuts
(Top and bottom right)
Step 3 melt caramel and evaporated milk (Bottom left)

Layer 1 (Top left with Step 1)
Layer 2 (Top right with Step 2)
Layer 3 (Bottom left with Step 3)
Layer 4 (Bottom right with repeated Step 1)

Yummy!!! Yes, the bite part is from my mouth!!

Where to find this recipe??

School's already started.. I am way behind.....

HELLO!!!!!!!  Yes, I am back at last.  What a year!  My firstborn Lori Lynn had graduated from high school and is already doing well as a freshman at Gallaudet University. She plays for the position as a mid-fielder for Gallaudet Women's Soccer Team. They're fresh young and struggle for a first win since the season started. Ariana is now a junior in the high school at Model Secondary School for the Deaf. She will travel with her volleyball team to Austin, Texas to play in the Spikeout Tournament at Texas School for the Deaf.
Kayla is now a 7th grader at Elkhorn Middle School.  She seems to be doing good. She loves Cosplay! Don't ask me what it is.  I am still learning what it is all about!  She loves to dress up all the time!  I think she is a true fashionista!

I am looking forward to making desserts again at this time of the year!!! Fall is nearly here!!!  Apple Crisp, Pumpkin Pie, Roast Beef and many more!!!

My plan is to make this sound-too-good-to-be-delicious Candy Bar Fudge!!!!  I found this amazing recipe from Pip & Ebby (http://www.pipandebby.com/pip-ebby/2012/12/10/candy-bar-fudge.html). You must check out their website for many different delicious recipes. I'll be sure to post pictures once I finish making them over the weekend!!!

Dec. 27

Hi everybody!!!   I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I sure did because being with family is the best feeling! We had a short trip down to St. Louis seeing my family as my girls' flight was cancelled due to weather last Thursday and they end up flying to different destination that way they are with us. I am actually from St. Louis and thought it would be perfect timing to see family by picking the girls up at the airport down there. Then back home and had do the grocery shopping which was too much for me!  On Christmas eve and day,  it was wonderful seeing the family members at my house where I was actually under stress getting all the food ready!   My dog, Fudge kept following me around the house because he knew I was cooking a ham!

Here are the sweets I made that I found recipes from several websites!  Can't resist Pinterest, really!!!
